A trip to support Prachuap FC

These were one of our toughest opponents I've seen yet - very good defensively but they played quite dirty so the ref had his work cut out and a lot of dodgy decisions were made.

Three points are the important thing though. Next game is away to Chainat on Sunday 20th, then another away game at Suphanburi on the 26th. We have secured our third spot for now: https://uk.soccerway.com/national/thail ... on/r45165/

Both teams played well for 60 minutes until a couple of schoolboy errors lost us two goals. Chainat deserved the win.

Next game is away to Suphanburi on Saturday 26.

Saturday June 9, 19.00. At home to Ubon, will be going to that one.

After that it is the big game of the season, home to Buriram on Sunday the 26th. Tickets will need to be booked in advance for that one.

Prachuap 4 - 1 Satun

I did something today that I vowed I would never do again, unless Prachuap were playing Hua Hin City. I stepped foot inside the 3 Bays Stadium.

My love affair with Hua Hin City is long over, so I probably wouldn't have returned to the stadium ever, apart from the fact a good friend of mine was making his debut for Satun.

Well, it wasn't at all the way I remember it after that 5-1 trouncing on that ill-fated Champions League night. The management have done quite a good job of tarting the place up. Were the floodlights always that powerful? The new meccano stand behind the goal looks to be a bit far from the action - reminded me of the old Wembley Stadium behind the goals. Overall, they've done well,

The game, well you wouldn't have thought it was T1 playing T4. The scoreline flattered Prachuap, and the difference was a young Satun full back, who didn't have a clue, and was responsible for 3 goals. Of course, neither team had their best team on the pitch at any one time.

I'm pleased to say, my friend (carrying an injury, and under strict orders not to shoot at goal) played the best I've ever seen him play - I spoke to him afterwards, and he put it down to the extra space afforded to him by the top tier players. He scored with just his 2nd touch of the ball - a well placed glancing header. He was clear through just after that, but wasn't allowed to to shoot with only the keeper to beat, but followed orders and passed the ball.

An enjoyable game. An amazing crowd (as many as a Hua Hin City home game) for a friendly.

They have made a lot of effort on the stadium but still nowhere near the standard they should be - you'll know having been to Ratchaburi. The toilets are still disgusting, a tree makes a far cleaner venue for a half time slash.

The friendlies are mainly for the B team to get games, they're not taken seriously.

Next home game is Saturday 9th against Ubon as we get into the second half of the season.

HaHa, we couldn't find the toilets - outside of Ratchaburi and Hua Hin (the only bit they got right), I think toilets at all stadiums are pretty dire.

Prachuap did play their first team squad, but not at the same time (I am told first team players did not play when Hua Hin visited recently). After watching Ratchaburi a few times now, I was expecting much more from Prachuap, and I was disappointed with their passing game.

I guess my next visit will be in the Away end (is that behind the goal?) on 4th Aug.

As said the friendlies are not serious - if you want to see Prachuap play properly you'll have to go to one of the league games - they have an unbeaten record at home so far this season.

For me the last game for a while will be Buriram if we can get tickets - will be in the UK for three months after that, missing all fixtures until the last two at the end of Sept.

I have been following Prachuap's highlights. I know you thought I was having a go at Prachuap when I criticised the highlights earlier in the season, but highlights are just as dire for all T1 sides.

So where do away supporters live at the 3 Bays Stadium please (will I need my binoculars )? Or do I pretend to support Prachuap for the day?

You guys will be in the new tier at the northern end of the stadium behind the goal.

A crucial 3 points keeps us planted at the business end of the table and with a bigger safety net from that big relegation zone. A tough but exciting game on a wet pitch which saw a missed penalty and two disallowed goals from PFC. It wasn't our best football, but the win is all that matters.

They have now allocated seat numbers so you can select and secure your seat when you buy the ticket instead of the usual free-for-all at the stadium. A positive improvement with a seat usher too.

The 0-0 draw away to Pattaya has put us in 5th and Buriram losing at home is also a good omen.

Bring on the big boys on Sunday - match of the season approaching, tickets virtually sold out already.

Still a lot of teams in that relegation battle. Even you are only 3 defeats from extinction. It'll be an interesting few weeks as teams seek consolidation positions. I've watched a few of those teams in no mans land this season, and I think there will be a few squeaky underpants performances for the next 6 or so games, at which points things should become clearer.

Absolutely, nobody is truly in the clear yet - the second half of the season will be very interesting for all - sadly I wont be here to see any of the games, Sunday will be my last for a while!
