A trip to support Prachuap FC

I thought all but the beer had been restored, not that a 25% crowd produces much of an atmosphere. The beer side is resolved at Ratchaburi with people taking their own and having picnics outside the stadium before and after the game.

Only 25% are allowed in the stadium so people that live in Prach will get priority ordering tickets. We'd have to drive up from BS and *hope* that we'd get in.

Only vaccinated people can enter which means the mrs can't go to any games anymore ... so I'd have to ride up on my own in the wet season and back at night (not fun).

Beer is likely to be banned in the stadium now and you can't exactly go to a bar or restaurant after anymore as they're all shut or not serving. I doubt anyone from BS goes to home games any longer.

Like many things in Thailand these days, it has now become a lot of hassle and the "sanuk" has been killed.

Actually, I think Covid has hurt football a lot. Ratchaburi played Buriram at the weekend, which is usually a sell out, or nigh on. The current stadium capacity is 2,500. The attendance was less than 2,000. So either there's a lot of football supporters in Ratchaburi still to be vaccinated, or there's a lot who have lost interest. You are most definitely not alone in the way you feel.

Right, I would imagine Prachuap support level is back to where it was before they were promoted to the top tier. The loss of interest is because people don't want the aggravation, they want to enjoy themselves, and as you know enjoyment has been banned.

The junta's harsh and overreaching lockdown measures have hurt pretty much everything in Thailand, and it will take years to recover if it ever does at all.

I see Prachuap have a new coach. They had to take drastic action because that gap at the bottom is getting wider. Of course, as a Ratchaburi fan, a new coach is a weekly occurrence

I hope you don't expect too much from new boy Amin Nasiri for leg 2. He wasn't good enough for Ratchaburi's team back in the days when Prachuap were kicking our arses.

OMG, and now strong rumours that you guys are trying to tempt Praweenwat Boonyong. Are you building a side to challenge for T2 next season?

As mentioned above mate, I don't follow it anymore and have no idea what the above is about so you're largely talking to yourself here!

There may be another supporter out there somewhere . They are certainly going down the desperation route with Amin and Praweenwat (Big). If they don't do something very quickly, they could be playing Hua Hin City again next season.

Prachuap were one of those teams (a bit like West Ham) that are buoyed up by the home fans and a full stadium (it is small as you know). That support has gone now because of the government so it may have led to their fall down the table.

Their support at Ratchaburi a couple of weeks ago was excellent. Credit where credit is due, their behaviour was impeccable - maybe the lack of alcohol sales is having a positive effect in one small area

Seriously, the need to be jabbed to watch football is decimating Thai football, Yesterday's Ratchaburi crowd was just 1,600 (33% improvement on the last 2 games). It is really sad to see.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Sam Ao Stadium improvements in April. It would be nice if they were housing Away supporters in one of those new wings - we might actually get to see some of the game.
