Chumphon province is going to have a new tourist attraction after it discovered Robusta coffee trees planted in vast farming areas in Tha Sae district are flowering.

The flowering of coffee trees produce impressive and beautiful sceneries that will become a potential magnet to attract tourists to visit.

It is now proposing the Tourism Authority of Thailand to register the large Robusta coffee fields at Ban Pawal village in Tambon Rabror of Tha Sae district to be a new tourist destination during the cold season.

Chumphon authorities said Ban Panwal village is the province’s largest Robusta coffee plantation.

They said the core occupation of residents of the village is growing coffee trees , mostly of the Robusta species.

Each year coffee cultivation could produce huge supply of coffee beans to factories for commercial production in the forms of instant coffee and ready-to-drink coffee.

Coffee is also being promoted as an Otop product of the province, they said.

TAT authorities have inspected the area before announcing it a new tourist destination.

Authorities also inspected a vantage point on the hill which is 500 metres above mean sea level and overlooking the valley covered with coffee trees now flowering.

The best season for visit to the new attraction is between December till end of January when average temperature in the valley of coffee trees is 13 degrees Celsius in the early morning. ... n-chumphon
