Trash situation on Suan Luang beach

The beach of suan luang is a shame for the whole region.
The garbage piles up for weeks on the beach and only very few resorts and restaurants clean at least their part of the beach.
But unfortunately some of them throw the garbage only to the neighboring property.
A conversation with the mayor was not successful. Absolute lack of understanding on his part and he does not feel responsible.
What can be done to change this situation?

Destroy the fishing boats - they are responsible for 90% of the garbage that gets washed up on the beaches here.

We cleared no end of fishing nets off the coral reefs a couple of weeks ago: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=962

Whilst the resort and restaurant owners “... clean at least their part of the beach” or “... throw the garbage only to the neighbouring property”, as you claim, do you sit on a deckchair or bar stool and watch?

As it appears not to have occurred to you that YOU can do something to change the situation until litter louts become educated in matters of personal responsibility and consideration for others and the environment we all share, may I suggest that you follow the example of “buksida”, who regularly joins a group to clear coral reefs of fishermen's and other peoples' garbage, and form or join a group to do a regular beach clean (without resorting to buksida's other more radical solutions!)?

It would be good to get a regular beach cleaning effort going, as you say the resorts only look after their little patch. It could be done say twice a month on a set day and anyone can join, the last one we did was in December: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=927

The only problem I can see is disposing of the collected rubbish, there is nowhere in BS to do this (apart from dumping it at the Amphur office in protest as the locals do).

Do you have any recycling facility there in town? there is money in it. Where does the areas garbage actually finish up ?surely there must be a garbage dump somewhere close by. A regular clean up is a great idea as discussed before. Perhaps the resorts ,bars etc could provide a small amount of baht,on rotation, for a BBQ after, make it a social occasion.
