1/2 or full day snorkeling trip?

Post by Senor » 25 Mar 2013 10:21

I'm looking for a 1/2 or full day snorkeling trip.

Like the ones they offer on Koh Change for around 600/700b for a 1/2 day island hop and snorkel trip.

I've searched the web and they all seem to be tours from Hua Hin for 2,500b for tourists on holiday here. Picked up at their resort by a minivan with tour guide type of thing.

Does anyone have any info for where one can get such a thing?

Thanks.

Yep, call Suchart Tours on 081-7594997, half day trips are about 400 baht.

If you want to do scuba then Kig Tours is the way to go: 081-9953787.

Both are based in Bangsaphan Noi (ten minutes drive).

Best just do it yourself, the reefs on shore are better than they are in a boat, just go to Ao Thong Lan 2 minutes outside of Bang Saphan.

I called Suchart, a Thai man answered and then laughed when I said I'm by myself, then quoted 1,400b. Okay, never mind.

Riding through town I surprisingly spotted a little Tourist Office which had loads of info on everything and was run by a very nice woman called Khun Kate.

Speaks perfect English and is really nice, and her family run Siam Garden Beach Resort along Bang Krud. She said she had a Thai group going out the next day and I could jump on that if I wanted for 350 baht.

Had a great day, I'd highly recommend it.

For anyone looking for a nice day snorkling there. :)

Thanks for posting your experiences, yes a single charter is going to be a lot more than going with a group which is why Suchart quoted you high. His group prices are the same.

Do you know the name of the company (boat) that you went with?

From what I gathered it was her father who was leasing (or owns) the boat and was running the show. She said her parents own the Siam Garden Beach Resort, so maybe it is a new venture of theirs. I went to the resort where a few of the Western guests were also doing it, then we were taken to the pier and then a coach load of Thais, around 40 I think they said, arrived and we headed off. I wasn't given any company name.
