Looks like they're 'secretly' implementing this - renewals of liquor licenses in Bangsaphan are now being scrutinized for proximity to schools, temples and gas stations.

We had a Christmas email from a friend in Chiang Mai. He used to go to a bar near the university and that has been closed down.

CM is going through a radical change in relation to bars and restauarants being informed how they must conduct their business in future. Its strangling the life out of many businesses that have been operating here for years.
The outcome will be that Europeans, Americans ,Australians etc visits will diminish and the growth will be in Chinese ,Japanese and Korean market. They tend to have different requirements ie eat at hotels and go on planned group tours of the areas.Temple visits seem to top the agenda.I find it quite amusing that the Chinese love shopping ,buying goods that are manufactured in their own country.
