This is what happens to Bad Buddhists! That's right, you go straight to...

Buddhist Hell

A note to patrons of Suan Luang bars, don't convert to Buddism:

(and alcoholics are frequently liars, as we know)

Until they speak English as a first language in class it never will improve.

The education syllabus in Thailand is still in the dark ages, unless you have money and can afford to go to a private or international school.

A sorry thing. No money for good public education, but plenty of money for corrupt politicians and business elites. So...bring an anti-corruption party into power, and tax the fuck out of these groups to fund a decent public school system.

On the other hand, the elite in America have always looked on a good educational system as dangerous, especially if people are taught "critical thinking", the habit of questioning the existence of accepted institutions, beliefs, or structures of power, challenging the legitimacy of things you're supposed to accept without question.

What passes for education in America is indoctrination. "America is the best, the Land Of The Free, the most moral". Children stand up at 6 years old and recite "The Pledge Of Allegiance" to "America and the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice For All". All the while staring at the American flag in the corner and a picture of the current President. These kids don't even understand the words, but it's like a religious exercise, the inculcating a habit of blind belief. I suspect Thai education is similar.

Perfect imperialism, I'd say. International schools are, first and foremost, a business enterprise ostensibly offering neo-liberal-style education to a like-minded wealthy clientèle.

Totally agree with YoursTruly, but would simply add that educational systems worldwide are basically propaganda machines, just like most of the world's media these days – up to us to try to seek a broad spectrum of knowledge and information, sort the wheat from the chaff, and open our children's eyes and minds.

Russian Woman injured as Indian loses control of Jet Ski on Pattaya Beach

A 78 year old Russian woman suffered a suspected broken leg after she was struck by a fast-moving Jet Ski driven by an Indian, which had left the water and came onto the beach.

The incident occurred in front of Soi 10 on Pattaya Beach and resulted in the leg injuries sustained by Mrs. Valentina Porova aged 78. Mr. Katen Petan aged 28 from India had been detained by Police and was taken to the Police Station while the victim was taken off to Hospital.

Khun Wutanyu aged 20 had rented the Jet Ski to the Indian and had already warned him about his erratic driving. He had also driven into the swimming area which was not permitted and could have seen the operator receive a heavy fine. The Indian ignored the warnings to reduce his speed and move back into the boating channel and seemed to lose control of the Jet Ski which left the water and came onto the beach where Mrs. Porova was standing. She was struck by the Jet Ski and fell to the ground.

Criminal Proceedings against the Indian driver have been initiated and the Jet Ski Operator, we understand, will also face prosecution.

60 Thai Superstitions

Adhere to these for a happy life, be careful what you dream, and for chrissakes, be careful!

For example....

50. Dreaming that a snake wraps itself around your body means you will soon meet your soulmate.
51. Seeing a dead body in your dream means you will win something from a lucky draw.
52. Dreaming that a tooth falls out means your relative will die. An upper jaw tooth refers to a relative of your father's side, while a lower jaw tooth is your mother's.
53. Kissing someone in a dream means bad luck.
54. Don't pre-celebrate your birthday. You will only die sooner.
55. Three doors should not align with each other, or it will create a portal for spirits from the other world to enter.
56. If a toad enters your home, it will bring good luck.
57. If your left arm muscle twitches, you will lose money. Right arm twitching brings money.

Typical American meddling in foreign governments...and typical attitude toward the EU, who they think have lost touch with their "inner Imperialist". American Ambassador ugly as fuck...
