New Tesco Lotus store for Bangsaphan

Another update from the BS rumour mill, there will be a Tesco in that area, but not on that plot which is apparently owned by the same people that own the computer and general store in that row of shop-houses.

Construction has started, the new Tesco Lotus is on a big patch of land just before the hospital as you're coming into town.

Makes a change from bird houses I guess.

Had a look round today, it was heaving. Its quite small and doesn't seem to stock anything that you can't already get in BS, there is a Thai book store in there and a little mobile phone shop and not much else.

Well! We now have a new Tesco's, next door to the hospital. Opened it's doors on Friday.
Not bad for a small one, no deli though! Obviously rather busy at the mo, so having trouble keeping their shelves filled. But I'm happy, found a couple of things I wanted that you can't buy in BS.

Is this the Tesco Express model ? They seem to be springing up everywhere,especialy in large service station outlets. Tops, a major supermarket chain in Bangkok and CM ,are looking to open 50 similar stores to Tesco Express throughout the country.Unlikey in BS I would think.

As an American, I can only hope that Tesco will sell those sneakers with the little lights in the heels, that turn on and off as you step. Not only are they soooo cool, but drunk drivers can see me walking along the road at night before they run me over.
