No, we use solar and a battery backup to keep things running for the hour or so it takes them to fix it.

The problem is that it is and has been the same issue for years - they simply won't spend money on upgrading the infrastructure to meet the demand. The same transformer explodes almost regularly now, you can set your clock by it.
