Bangsaphan Coronavirus/Covid-19 updates
Re: Bangsaphan Coronavirus/Covid-19 updates
We know somebody coming from the UK in December who hasn't been told there will be a need to quarantine. Coming on a 2 centre holiday, Bangkok and Hua Hin. Only requirement is to book 1 night in Bangkok hotel.

It is only required if you want to travel abroad. The locally issued certificate is good enough for within Thailand.
Re: Bangsaphan Coronavirus/Covid-19 updates
Anyone know why the Bang Saphan new case numbers have spiked these past two days?
Re: Bangsaphan Coronavirus/Covid-19 updates
Fishing village in Bo Tong Lang apparently. There are a lot of migrant workers there.
Re: Bangsaphan Coronavirus/Covid-19 updates
Thanks! That would make sense. The living conditions for the migrant workers there are pretty awful
Re: Bangsaphan Coronavirus/Covid-19 updates
I know not everybody uses it, and I hate the thing myself, but there is a lot of info and daily updates on the covid situation in Bangsaphan on this Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SaveBangsaphan ... 717505414/
Re: Bangsaphan Coronavirus/Covid-19 updates
Thanks! Their map graphic showing the case distribution looks useful
Re: Bangsaphan Coronavirus/Covid-19 updates
It is, the scaremongerers around here would have you believe BS is riddled with covid but as that map shows, it is a very large sparsely populated area with just a couple of cases here and there (aside from the fishing village outbreak).
You've got more chance of a coconut falling on your head than catching covid in Bangsaphan!

Re: Bangsaphan Coronavirus/Covid-19 updates
Unvaxed Thais in Prachuap now have a choice beyond the Sinococktail. They can register for Mor Phrom Prachuap v2 to get an Astra/Pfizer cocktail.

Its seems to have been made over complicated as usual - the links return you to the same page as does the QR code. You have to click the yellow box at the bottom to check ID registration status, this then takes you to another page to register.

First vaccinations of Astra/Pfizer begin today at BS hospital for Thais registered on Mor Phrom Prachuap v2.

Re: Bangsaphan Coronavirus/Covid-19 updates
Morning!
Question re COVID related limits on banknote exchange.
Some newly arrived European neighbours have been asking about changing euros to baht in Bang Saphan. Does anyone know if any of the banks there has restarted doing currency exchange for banknotes? If the Covid no-exchange rule is still in place, where is the nearest open currency exchange now? Prachuab or Hua Hin?
Many thanks!

Re: Bangsaphan Coronavirus/Covid-19 updates
Sorry for the late response, NY and all.
Some of the banks in BS are still restricting currency exchanges, and this stupid ruling seems to still be the case. If it even can be transmitted by a banknote - does Covid care if it is a 500 baht or a 20 Euro note? I think the reason is more likely that they cant shift the foreign currency because there are no tourists here.
There are dedicated exchanges in Hua Hin that may change banknotes.
