The local municipality have been very good, free meals and water has been made available to everyone in the area, The community spirit has also been overwhelming, donations of food, supplies and clothing have been made in the worse affected areas. Repairs of all rail tracks in the South will take about a week
Rail tracks maintenance in all the flood-affected southern provinces will be completed in seven days, State Railways of Thailand governor Wutthichart Kalayanamit said on Friday.
The governor organized a special train bringing relief materials to help southern flood victims. The train stopped at Thung Song junction which is the farthest that all the south-bound trains can travel to.
Mr Wutthichart was in the special train to inspect damages to rail tracks. A heavy-duty maintenance car was on Friday brought to Ban Chong Khao in Thung Song district to help in track maintenance.
The governor said that, initially, the SRT would spend about 20 million baht for track repairs. But for long-term solution, 770 million baht will be needed to upgrade rail tracks, he added.

Highways Department seeks 3.3 billion baht special budget for road repairs
The Highways Department has sought an addition of 3.3 billion baht special budget from the Transport Ministry for the maintenance of highways in the Northeast, the North and recently in southern provinces from flooding since last September.
Department head Mr Thanin Somboon said Friday that the department’s existing budget for road repairs is not enough to meet the demand, noting that total damages to roads and highways from flooding since last September were estimated at 3,661 million baht, including 800 million baht for the roads in the South from recent flooding during January 1-12.
The department has been allocated with 150 million baht emergency fund for road repairs in southern provinces on top of 200 million baht annual emergency fund for road repairs, said Mr Thanin.
Once there is an approval from the Transport Ministry regarding the additional fund sought, he said the department would start making designs of road repairs and look for constractors to undertake the actual road repairs which will take about four months.
Maintenance work will start in the six provinces of Chumporn, Trang, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Prachuab Khiri Khan, Phatthalung and Surat Thani.

Seriously ill patients transferred from Bang Saphan Hospital under flood threat
Seven seriously ill patients have been transferred to nearby hospitals from Bang Saphan Hospital in Bang Saphan district which is under a flood threat.
Cherdchai Chayawattho, director of Bang Saphan Hospital, told ThaiPBS that as of 5pm today (Nov 8 ) seven critical patients were transferred to Prachuap Khiri Khan Hospital and nearby hospitals after Bang Saphan district was hit by a heavy downpour for about four hours on the night of Nov 7.
The hospitals also discharged over 100 in-patients after assessing that their condition were safe enough to go home, Dr Cherdchai said.
Currently there are 38 in-patients at the hospital.
About 50 soldiers were on stand-by to assist with flood evacuation if needed, the hospital director said, adding that the hospital’s emergency room is operating as normal.
Dr Cherdchai said he had learned from community leaders and irrigation officials that water in Bang Saphan canal was rising and the run-off from Thap Sakae was likely to arrive at Bang Saphan Hospital this afternoon. Since water in the canal behind the hospital was rising quickly, the evacuation of the three seriously ill patients was necessary.
Thap Sakae district was also hit by heavy rain last night and the rainwater was threatening to inundate Phetkasem Highway on Wednesday.
Bang Saphan Hospital provides health services for about 400-500 patients per day. In early 2017, the hospital was flooded and the water level was higher than 1.50 metres.

U-turn at Petchkasem has been closed as water has breached the banks and is now in the red zone. It has started to flood in some outer lying areas. No flooding in town yet and the new defenses are holding up but ... its still raining and the tide is coming in.

Flood alert issued for Prachuap Khiri Khan
A flood alert has been issued for Prachuap Khiri Khan and seven other southern provinces.
The Royal Irrigation Department has said heavy rain is expected to fall in the province between next Tuesday and Thursday (Nov 23 to 25) which could cause flash flooding.
The adverse weather is due a cold front from China.
Officials have been urged to monitor rainfall closely and issue evacuation orders if the amount of rainfall exceeds 90mm in any location.
Officials have also been ordered to monitor the levels of reservoirs and dams, many of which are already at 80% capacity.
Bang Saphan and Bang Saphan Noi were districts in the province highlighted most at risk from flash flooding, officials said.
