Thousands of jellyfish washed up on the beach this morning - not recommended to go swimming at the moment!

Have been dipping in each day after some yard work. Have seen a few in the water but not many, nor any in the last two days.

With the holiday weekend and many Thais swimming, I didn't hear any screams

I can't read German, and google did not translate, but from the pictures I imagine you are asking about jellyfish.

I have seen 3 very large jellyfish this week washed up on shore, but in daily (almost) swims, have not seen any.

I have also noticed a fair amount of people swimming (for this time of year) and have not heard any screams and shouts!!

Weather wise, a little rain most everyday, but fairly quick

The Farang

Prachuap Khiri Khan: swarms of jellyfish are spotted off the beaches of the province since last weekend.

At least ten tourists arrived in front of the beach of Huay Yang with the jellyfish into contact and suffered injuries. Seven had to go to hospital for treatment. Fishermen report that they had seen different types of jellyfish in the sea. For people are particularly dangerous box jellyfish, which secrete a powerful poison that can cause death. On 6 October, died on Koh Samui, a 20-year-old German after being stung by a box jellyfish. In August of last year succumbed to the Koh Phangan, a five year old boy from France to his injuries. Prachuap Khiri Khan on the beaches but it should be less dangerous jellyfish. Restaurant owner near the beach have been invited. Ready to keep vinegar. After being touched by a jellyfish, the wound should then be cleaned with a doctor vinegar and visited. By Vinegar the poison spreads more slowly.

We did our Trash Hero pickup on the beach today and saw 5-6 large jellyfish washed up on shore. My understanding is these are not really dangerous, maybe a mild sting, but if they are here, I am sure so are the box jellies!

Yes, the supersize ones do not usually sting, however as with snakes, its best not to take the chance and avoid swimming in the sea when they are around.

Being an El Niño year means we've got a lot more rain and it is coming a lot later. Never usually rains this much in December.

This is a daily occurrence at the moment:

We are arriving in Bangkok on Thursday. Weather (according to the BBC) will be 33 and sunny. And much the same for the days following. We'll be in Bang Saphan about a week later. No rain please.

Brass monkeys here, 15-20 degrees max, howling wind off the ocean and very rough seas.
