Actually, "Climate Change" is a better description than "Global Warming". Though average temperatures are indeed increasing, weather is also becoming a lot more unpredictable...new records for hot and cold, floods, tornados and earthquakes where they're not supposed to be...lots of surprises. Even idiotic Americans now believe in climate change after a decade of freak weather, after years of being told that it was just a left-wing conspiracy. The planet is doomed. (Sorry, I'll rephrase that: Homo Sapiens are doomed. The planet has survived much worse.)

Yep, we're getting November weather again in February; high tides and strong winds, something is amiss with it all.

Had a few very unseasonal rain showers and the seas are still rough.

You know the old saying we come out with every year; "its hotter this year than last"? Well it could actually be true this year:

El Niño Looks Increasingly Likely

And here is what it does to the temperatures from March to May (red being higher than usual):

Expect droughts and water shortages this year. Happy Songkran by the way!

We have had a brute of a summer in Chiang Mai. the last 17 days, 37 degrees plus with a high of 41 and no rain.

Most days not a breath of a breeze, like living in an oven, unlike you lucky people in BS getting a sea breeze.

However last couple of nights gentle soaking rain and a 10 degree drop in temperature.Rainy season has ,its seems, arrived

Living on the coast sure does have its advantages.

Dire warnings,in the Bangkok Post, about heavy monsoonal storms heading for the gulf over the next few says.Just about to recommend to a few friends to head down your way but don't want to send them into a situation that might not be enjoyable. What's the predictions and conditions down there at the moment.Satellite images in the north this wet season have been totally unreliable.

Typical rainy season weather here, sunning in the mornings and a big rain storm mid afternoon.

Gulf looks clear at the moment: http://www.sattmet.tmd.go.th/newversion/mergesat.html

A fair bit of rain expected over the next week, seas are choppy and the wind is up.

The wind is ripping and the seas are rough, great news for windsurfers and kiteboarders - not so good for divers and snorkelers!

Always unhappy for rough seas when I want to dive, but it is nice for sitting somewhere, enjoying a drink and cigar, watching.
