Apologies Buksida inadvertently duplicated most of your post..too much Christmas cheer is my only defence.Looking forward to some photographs and I would imagine boat trips out to the islands would be a bit dodgy at the moment.

First days of 2012 have been wet, rain hasn't stopped. Not that we didn't need it, will do wonders for the garden!

No one as yet has mentioned, for a while, the state of the local beaches. Its quite amazing, if they are clean, when you consider the mountains of rubbish that were washed out of the waterways around Bangkok. If its not on the Bangsaphan beach its out there somewhere !
Re: Current weather and sea conditions in Bangsaphan
Pretty clean at the moment, some recent high tides gave them a good washing! We haven't had the annual 'trash tides' yet.

Ah rain! Refreshing!
Just looked at the weather map, which way are those nasty clouds going?

A LOT of jellies have been washing up on the beach over the past few days - they're the big white ones and though unsightly they don't sting. Its the tiny brown ones that you need to be careful of if swimming.
Re: Current weather and sea conditions in Bangsaphan
Big storms threatened but still no rain in BS Yai, sea was flat and calm yesterday.
Re: Current weather and sea conditions in Bangsaphan
I heard it was raining in Ban Krut, but it was not confirmed by the weather map on the right.
It seems that the picture on the right did not update anymore since 25 July.buksida wrote:This is usually pretty accurate, it changes every 15 minutes you can get the latest one by refreshing this link: http://www2.tmd.go.th/radar/chumphon/cmp240_latest.jpg
Re: Current weather and sea conditions in Bangsaphan
It looks like Chumphon radar station has been removed from the list: http://www2.tmd.go.th/radar/
The nearest one now is Surat but that doesn't really show us much: http://www2.tmd.go.th/radar/srt.php
If anyone knows a decent radar map of the area please post it.

TS Gaemi could be heading our way:

By the time it hits BS it will have been downgraded to a depression but it could still get a bit gnarly in a few days time.

Sorry to hear you guys are really copping it. Also piddling down in Bangkok and here in Chiang Mai cloudy with moderate rain ,the wettest November here in 30 years apparently. Last time I tell visitors come in November/Dec never rains
