A trip to support Prachuap FC

Post by buksida » 12 Aug 2014 12:41

With all the football talk around we thought we'd take a trip to Prachuab town to cheer on our local team. Kickoff wasn't until 17.30 so Ao Manao made a good enough place to spend the afternoon. Entrance was 60 baht per head and seating unallocated so we took the shaded side but would probably have had more fun with the band on the other side of the stadium!

You could get a shirt in the official club shop for 400 baht and a cold beer at the local stalls for 35 baht a tin. I wasnt expecting Serie A but was genuinely impressed by the standard of play, some of the players should be in much higher divisions. Prachuab went on to beat Nakhon Si Thammarat convincingly by 3 goals to 1.

Went to see the away game this weekend at Chumphon, things are a little livelier in the away stand where the hardcore supporters go - we were right amongst it with the drummers and vuvuzelas. Entrance was 40 baht and the kids went free, the match was very tight and ended up a 0-0 draw.

After a close fought game Prachuap were victorious over BCC Tero by 2 goals to 1 and now lead the playoff table for group A with 9 points.

If anyone is interested in going to the games or joining the Bangsaphan supporters group please drop by Country Road.

A 5-2 defeat away to Pichit, but Prachuap are still on top of the table.

Next match is away to Prachinburi on the 15th, then home to the same team on the 22nd.

Phichit and Prachinburi are the poor relatives in this group. What went wrong yesterday - injuries?

Prachuab are so much better than that :?

Not really sure, haven't translated their Facebook reports yet, I'm hoping there isnt a repeat at Prachinburi.

Prachinburi would have struggled to finish in the top half of Hua Hin's normal league, let alone the Champions league. You should restore your superior goal difference on Saturday.

Another disappointing away result losing 2-1 to Prachinburi.

The table is very tight at the top now ...

Back on top of the table with a great result against Prachinburi whose goal keeper was outstanding.

Phichit are the team to beat at the moment, we're meeting them on Wednesday!

The big Phichit No.8, who was an excellent centre-half was sent off late in the game on Saturday. That should leave the way clear for your forwards.

Phichit's number 10 is the man to watch, extremely fast on the ball, and very accurate on goal. Good vision in the penalty area as well.

Prachuab should stuff them (I hope).

OMG what a disaster for both Prachuab and Hua Hin. You've dropped to 2nd, and we're only 3rd. The cheating Phichit find themselves first tonight.
