A trip to support Prachuap FC

As expected we lost to Buriram. The first half was diabolical, Prachuap were not even trying, most of the passes were missed and Doumbouya was up front on his own with no support - we didn't even get a shot in. Naturally Buriram, which were the better team and very quick on the attack scored twice. The ref also gave 90% of the decisions their way which didn't help.

The second half was a completely different game, Reis came on and completely transformed things, scoring himself twice though one was disallowed. Why the hell they didn't play him for the whole 90 minutes I don't know, it lost us the game, though maybe that was the intention - the details of Prachuap's 'relationship' with Buriram are still very hazy.

Next game away to Muang Tong on Sunday 1st - not too confident about that one either!

A superb result away to one of the top teams in the league, which we have now beaten twice this season!

Next game at home to Bangkok Glass on the 7th.

Thai Football Takes An Unplanned Break

I am now a regular follower of Ratchaburi Mitr Phol, and thought I was going crazy yesterday when after next weekend all of August's fixtures had vanished. However, it's true - an unscheduled break has been implemented.

That is a very old article, and I can't get any confirmation that it stretches beyond T1.

Does this mean that the season will be pushed back a month and end in November? There will probably be more news on facebook but I don't use it anymore.

Teams will be playing twice a week to the end of the season.

Only affects T1 & T2 by the way.

Big home game today to Ratchaburi who are tough opponents. Game will be live on True Sport 2.

Well guys, I said I'd be back in August, and I was there yesterday (supporting Ratchaburi).

Prachuap 2 - 1 Ratchaburi

As you may guess, my comments are biased, but I've seen seen some very good teams in the upper echelons of T1 this season, and I expected Prachuap to be up there amongst them - they weren't.

As I've said before, I have no time for your Chairman, and I found his team to be very cynical. I've never seen so much conning of a referee outside of T4. There was diving and feigning injury throughout, disrupting Ratchaburi's better (even though they were off form yesterday as well) football.

Your T4 loanee, certainly showed some skills, and had 2 lovely finishes. I would have had a lot of respect for him had his acting not got a Ratchaburi player sent off. Still, it is what it is. Prachuap are looking fairly safe from relegation now, but Ratchaburi are still in the dog fight for T1 survival in mid table.

Facilities at the ground are attrocious for visiting supporters, but unlike many T1 stadiums, they were priced accordingly. I've been watching Thai football for 6 years now, and can honestly say the visitor experience at Prachuap rates as the 2nd worse behind Samut Songkram. The terracing is very sub-standard, and rusting badly in places (this is quite worrying after just 6 months). Being of a larger frame (some may call it fat) the terracing buckled badly with every step. I would hate to be there if the stadium was full - if a large crowd started celebrating on that, I think we'd be watching it on the news the next day.

One big plus from the day.......... They sold raincoats at the entrance at very reasonable cost. This facility was a god send yesterday.

A match report would have been nice since I didn't get to see it. But I expected nothing less than this rant from someone who hated the team before the game even started! Can't disagree with comments on the facilities though, the stadium is shite and the toilets diabolical.

Match report is simple. Ratchaburi were quite negative in the first half, and Prachuap seemed Happy to let them keep it negative.

2nd half started pretty much the same until Valskis (who couldn't usually hit a barn door from 4') broke through and scored.

Prachuap woke up, and your T4 loanee (No.10) came to life and grabbed 2 goals to give you the lead. Unfortunately, his acting also succeeded in getting one of Ratchaburi's defenders sent off. 10 against 11 - back to negativity again. Sniper in the crowd picking off Prachuap players at will.

Yes, the 3 points are what it was all about.

Really? It works in other parts of Europe - definitely in Denmark and Germany. Part time Ratchaburi supporters from Hua Hin keep in touch with the team via Buaksib while they are away. They never miss a match.
