Koh Talu marine life

Here are a few pics I took around Talu while snorkeling/free diving recently: http://www.bangsaphanguide.com/img/bspics/bs1.jpg http://www.bangsaphanguide.com/img/bspics/bs2.jpg http://www.bangsaphanguide.com/img/bspics/bs3.jpg http://www.bangsaphanguide.com/img/bspics/bs4.jpg http://www.bangsaphang...

Unseasonal weather?

Just spent another weekend in BS eager to get out on the boat but the winds are still high and the ocean is rough. Is this really unseasonal weather for the area? I noticed no boats were going out to the island at all. Hope it settles down soon although it wasnt too bad spending three days at Montri...

Not to be pedantic but Bangsaphan town is 2km inland so has no water at all - but the area you describe north of the bay is not very clear as it has a lot of shellfish farming and river runoff which muddies the water. Most visitors to Bangsaphan stay at the Suan Luang beach area (where Coral resort ...

Naturally BS doesn't have all the glitz of other Thai resort towns but for some (myself included) that is part of the attraction. It does have clear water and diving out at the island but agree that the town itself isn't much of an attraction. After 9 years in Hua Hin the Bangsaphan area is heaven f...

Or take a look at the Ban Krut page on this site:

http://www.bangsaphanguide.com/ban-krut.htm

Personally I prefer BS, less overpriced Thai resorts and more laid back.

You can easily find teaching work here, most of the expats are teachers.

If you like a laid back and quiet way of life you'll like Bangsaphan.

You should count yourself lucky someone has even bothered to collect information on the area and build a website for it instead of complaining.

Diving in Bangsaphan

Most people think of Koh Talu when thinking of diving or snorkeling. The trouble with Talu is that its over visited so there is less marine life and a lot of the coral has been damaged by anchors from tour boats and careless snorkelers standing on the reef. If you want to see more fish life and unto...

Have a look at this site for taxis, send them an email and you'll get a price.

www.taxihuahin.net

Trains are very cheap but the station in Chumphon is a long way from the Lomprayah ferry port.

Ban Krut is approx 100km from Chumphon.

Nothing is advertised but there are plenty of little houses that go from 3-5000 per month, best bet is to ask around, try one of the local beach bars such as "Why Not".
