Re: Bank books: the latest scam at Bangsaphan land office
Just curious: any effect on land transaction activity so far? From the new land office practice I mean.

Re: Bank books: the latest scam at Bangsaphan land office
There is a lady chief at the land office who for sure is no friend of farang involvement in land deals. I was part of an arrangement where I received the right to use my wife's land for as long as I live (usufruct) as part of a land acquisition. The lady chief, dressed in military style uniform, exp...

A taxi service. Car or truck, not motorbike. I know, the motorbike guys would probably kill the taxi guy, but hey got to change some day.

I think both dogs and jetskis are a menace at the beach. There you go

Re: Greetings from Sweden (...and also a bunch of questions)
I couldn't help to notice that it looked liked there were a lot of washed up junk on the beach. Is that the case? Do they keep it clean outside of the resorts? Sadly yes, a fair bit of junk finds its way onto the beaches at certain times of the year. Irresponsible local fishermen are the culprits. ...

Re: Bangsaphan beach land price guide
A small plot of land of 230 sqm behind Coral Hotel changed hands for 350k last week, that translates into 2.5m per rai. About 200m from the seaside perhaps. Much land prepared for building and some ongoing construction in that area right now. I know of a plot of 400 sqm close to Palm Gardens that wa...

Re: Greetings from Sweden (...and also a bunch of questions)
What about getting to Bang Saphan by train, does a train station with the name "Bang Saphan" exist even though it's not mentioned on the "State railway of Thailand" homepage? Yes, and the train at least from Hua Hin to Bang Saphan is a very nice trip in my opinion (I haven't traveled all the way fr...

Re: Greetings from Sweden (...and also a bunch of questions)
Just to clarify: with western menu I meant menu written in English (seems like a non-standard definition with hindsight). As for farang food restaurants there are less than nine that I am aware of (GK, Biw Beam, maybe Suan Luang or Coral Hotel for some French grub but then what?)

Re: Greetings from Sweden (...and also a bunch of questions)
I took a look at the pics and they don't look like anywhere in Bang Saphan that I have seen. I am sure somewhere else here knows where they are taken - not me, unfortunately. Yes - the main beach area is outside the center of the town. Have a look on the maps at bangsaphanguide to find the way there...

Re: Greetings from Sweden (...and also a bunch of questions)
Welcome Robert - good to see some fellow Swede interested in Bang Saphan. This is still very much a town for Thais rather than Western tourists so far. Which adds to its charm if you ask me - nobody will try to sell you anything when you go to the beach. In fact, you are likely to find the beach (an...

Re: Good Thai food in Bangsaphan
Heard there was a good seafood place in town but forgot name and location. Anyone?
I like the 220 baht breakfast buffé at the Coral hotel but would prefer something more modest. Struggling a bit to find places that serve breakfast. Any ideas? Roy Erawan is closed for some reason.

Re: Sangiun resort
Sanguin resort is right behind the I-Talay restaurant, I believe, and belongs to and is run by the I-Talay family. I checked out their bungalows the other day, very nicely located and clean. One concrete dual-bungalow with aircon right at the beach (1200 baht/night) and wooden-style with fan for 600...
