Ban Krut flooding

In Ban Krut a catastrophe has occurred because of the storm that hit the area on January 10. The river that runs parallel to this road has overflown and the water found its way to the sea through the main road and through several resorts. The beach road is washed away on several places. Damage has b...

Re: Camping/pet friendly accommodation, Ban Krut

Frequently I see campers, with European licence plates parked on the beach for several nights. Most resorts have bungalows with empty spaces between them. I am sure they will let you camp there, but they do not have toilet/shower facilities for campers. Small dogs are accepted in most places as well.

Re: Visiting Ban Krut

Sorry, made a spelling mistake in my previous post.
It is Platoo Seafood of course.
(I don't want people to think you can only see their food and not eat it.)

And I just remembered that there is also a bar at Banito Beach resort.

Re: taxi in Ban Krut

I am not sure if there are taxi's waiting at Phetkasem Road, which is 11 km's from the village. Normally I see them in the village and near the train station. You can try to call "Ban Krut Tour and Travel". +66(0)81 736 3086. They might be able to arrange a taxi, which picks you up from Phetkasem ro...

The new building is not on the same compound as the existing resort, but next to it.
It should have been finished in 2012, but the work was stopped.
They now have permission to finish it.

I know a place in the direction of Mae Rampueng.
When you go from BS town to Mae Rampueng bay, it is about 200 meters before you reach the beach road on the left side.

Re: Coconut Garden Bugalows

Coconut Garden is a relatively small resort, located on the busiest stretch of the beach road.
I have not heard anything negative about it in the bars in Ban Krut.

Re: Haad Sai Kaew versus Proud Thai

They are both in Ban Krut.
Proud Thai resort itself is quiet, but they are next to Sala Thai resort were they have a lot of guests from companies, who have a motivation programs. And these people like nothing better then karaoke on the beach.

Re: Taxi from Train Station to the beach?

There are always some 3 wheeled tuk-tuks waiting at the train station, when trains arrive.
A few years ago they charged 20 Baht. I have no idea what the current rate is.

Re: Daytrip in Hua Hin

BB, you got me confused so I cycled to the station to have a look at the schedule. Last year we had a similar question from friends, who wanted to go to HH for a day and we quickly skipped the train option, because it appeared to be not very practical. This is the northbound schedule from Ban Krut a...
