Bangsaphan Nightlife
Bangsaphan doesn't have any real form of nightlife, it is a quiet local town that is just starting to develop. Many feel that this is part of its charm and it should remain this way. Please see our Eating and Drinking Out section for more information on bars.
There are a couple of local karaoke
bars in town including one called the Blue Moon (Ban
Mai) which also has a live band and can get very busy.
Sa-Biang is also a rock pub just a kilometer from town
on the road to Suan Luang, it can get very busy with
young Thais at the weekends.
Beach
Bars
For those that would like to relax during the afternoon
and early evening there are a couple of small, friendly
beach bars where you can sit. Montri's
Coco Bar is a rustic little place with the best music
collection in town. It is a good spot for meeting the
local expats or listening to some rock and roll.
Why Not Bar (below) is a little further down the
beach, it is also a nice place to relax with a beer and
catch up on sporting events. Both places tend to close
around 11pm.
The Cocktail Bar is
right on the beach between the Coral Resort and iTalay,
it opens at 4pm until late and serves a full range of
beers and cocktails.
Sakuna and Bew Beam both have bars offering
cold beers, cocktails and liquors and usually stay
open later than the beach bars.
Karaoke Bars
There are no shortage of karaoke bars around Bangsaphan,
they mainly cater to Thais so you will struggle unless
you can speak some of the language. VIP rooms and massage
services are on offer along with the usual extras however
again these are generally only available to the locals!
There are many of these types of venue round where
the port is at
the far end of Mae Rampheung.
Karabao Bar at Sunrise Resort
Snacks, wine, beer, cocktails, Italian style coffee and cappuccino.
At a stones-throw from the beach, you can listen to music or watch sporting events on satellite TV whilst tasting your favorite drink. The peace of the coconut plantations and the romance of the gulf with its fishing boats and islands will surround you.
Opening hours are 11:00 A.M. until 11:00 PM. Call 087-7047809 for reservations or info.
Most of the resorts have their own bars but they generally
tend to be very low key.
